I understand that growth hacking involves trying out different A/B tests using existing team builds and making decisions based on data-driven insights. As we master this principle, you will find that you can gain more perspectives on the same problem and develop a method for optimal growth in your industry.

The Power of Data-Driven Insights

Just like I wrote about the 4 stages of growth hacking, I believe that it’s not the standard answer, as some authors may write about 3 stages or 5 stages. However, if we carefully read articles from specialists in the field of growth hacking, we will find that everyone is emphasizing the importance of Data-Driven decision-making. Remember, data-driven insights are crucial. Before making decisions, ensure that your data is accurate! In today’s industry, what is the experience? It’s the essence of data-driven insights.

Putting Growth Hacking into Practice

Of course, this method may not be suitable for everyone, as some people prefer thinking while others don’t like too much thinking. However, if you are working in an enterprise that wants to achieve growth, you will often find that each step grows a to-do list. You can also try similar thinking patterns to make each to-do list project optimal. In growth hacking, the most important conclusion is data-driven insights. Data-driven insights mean that every action taken will have an effect. We need to review the effects of each test. Each review can help us discover the impact of different actions on growth, which involves A/B testing. All we need to do is keep one variable constant and observe the different effects of actions on the outcome.

Growth Hacking Strategies for Apps: A Data-Driven, Step-by-Step Guide

Let me share a practical example. In May 2023, I was completely responsible for growing their APP while working as a Growth Hacking Manager. This target was simple — to achieve a high number of app installs on the budget.

Our main KPI is a huge installation of an application. To apply the growth hacking methodology, we had to break down this KPI into Organic and Paid installations. Organic installations are those that come from Google Play and AppStore as well as SEO traffic. On the other hand, Paid installations are driven by advertising, mainly through Google Ads, Facebook Meta & TikTok.

Here is the formula that I came up with; target installations( over a specified period) = organic + paid

Organic installations

To increase organic downloads, I worked on optimizing the user conversion path. Therefore, by updating the App Market/Store Listings V.I., copying and creative on the App Store will increase conversion rates from detailed page views to downloads.

SEO is complex in nature due to its need for exploration of new job-seeking keywords (titles, descriptions) like Job Recruitment and optimized user path from webpage entry into app download or website feature usage.

Paid installations

Given the time constraints for achieving the target, I optimized Ad Creative to meet the goal. Here, the data-driven relationship is the impact of different ad types on CTR (click-through rates). Once users click on the ads, they enter the App details page, contributing to the conversion rate.

In just 10 days, I met the budget-controlled target, with app installations exceeding 50,000 daily on one occasion.

Conclusion

The essence of growth hacking lies in continually reviewing and optimizing decisions to achieve growth. Each growth decision results from extensive experimentation, so don’t fear a lack of immediate success. Each failed attempt accelerates your journey toward the correct solution.

At this time, I would like to invite everyone to discuss whether there is a balanced relationship between recruiter and applicant user on the platform so that the growth effect can be maximized at different stages.
